The Consumer Safety Center is an organization established in the Korea Consumer Agency under Article 4(Fundamental rights of consumers), to ensure ‘the rights to have their lives, bodies or property protected against any danger and injury caused by goods or services pursuant to sub-clause 1, and under clause 1, Article 51 of the Framework Act on Consumers to support the government’s consumer protection policies.
The Consumer Safety Center carries out the collecting and processing of injury information, as well as research and investigation to promote consumer safety. The Center also conducts related trainings, gives recommendations to correct defects or standards regarding harmful products and services and engages in international cooperations concerning consumer safety.

In accordance with the analysis results of the injury information collected, the Center issues consumer safety alerts, makes public notification on the unsafe products and services and orders the organizations that have produced harmful items to take corrective measures. The center also proposes to revise related national or regional regulations and policies.
